Who We Are

Second Chance Cocker Rescue, Inc. : Mission statement: Our core mission is to reduce the number of unwanted pets in our area. We do this by rescuing and finding loving homes for Cocker Spaniels and small dogs in need and providing access to low-cost spay and neuter surgeries to our community and educating children on responsible pet ownership.

Second Chance Spay and Neuter Clinic, and Arlo’s Sanctuary are both a part of Second Chance Cocker Rescue, Inc, a non-profit California Corporation. SCCR is run by a board of directors, Elizabeth Fitzgerald, Debra Shelton, Michele Gitomer Teresa Tyhurst, and Leslie Costa. While we pay our clinic and kennel staff, the board are all volunteers.

The property, the clinic and the dogs, are all owned by the Corporation and all proceeds are directed back into the business. Donations are accepted to keep our costs to the community down. Your donations go to pay the staff payroll, supplies, equipment and overhead like insurance to keep us open. Those donations help us keep our costs low, and make you an important, valued part of the solution to pet over-population.

Every time we are asked why our board does not accept any salary or compensation for their tireless work, the answer is always the same. It is not about us, it is about saving lives, one SNIP at a time.
